The Craft Parlour is going international for a Craft Retreat!! Join us on an eight-day immersive creative journey to Laos.

Share a laugh and a smile with the locals as you are welcomed into their villages and homes to learn about their ancient traditions and how they live. Visit local craft and weaving villages and not-for profit women’s craft organisations and meet the local women creating traditional crafts as they have done so for centuries.

Get creative when you try your hand at lots of fun hands-on traditional craft workshops including recycled paper craft, Shibori and natural dyes, silk weaving, bamboo weaving, Hmong batik, Hmong applique, paper jewellery making and Katu backstrap weaving.

Bordering Thailand and Vietnam, Laos is a Southeast Asian country traversed by the Mekong River and known for mountainous terrain, French colonial architecture, hill tribe settlements and Buddhist monasteries. With its charming laneways, colourful temples, gorgeous textile galleries and amazing craft markets and shopping, the beauty of Laos will stay with you long after you've returned home.

Your hosts will be Rach from The Craft Parlour and Narelle Grudgfield. With a gypsy soul, a kind heart and a passion for all things craft Rachael will keep the smiles coming and make sure each day is a beautiful experience. Narelle has over 17 years of travel experience in Laos and a passion for textiles and traditional crafts and culture. This is your chance for an inspirational, cultural and creative experience that doesn’t come along every day. Life is for living, exploring and experiencing!
