The art of weaving with natural fibres is an ancient craft practiced across many cultures. Raffia has been used to sculpt baskets and mats for storing, carrying and decorating throughout history. Through this session, Kelly from Palm Baskets will be guiding you through each step to make a gorgeous coiled raffia basket.

Weaving is a powerful way for us to be able to connect with one another and connect with nature. Whether weaving a basket for yourself or a beautiful handmade gift, coming together and being immersed in a traditional art form is both relaxing and energising.

Whilst throughout this workshop we will use the natural fibre of raffia and the weaving technique of coiling, you will walk away equipped to apply the same technique to create baskets of various textures and materials. Throughout this session, you will create and take home your own basket, perfect for storing jewellery or other small treasures..

There will be a selection of both neutral and coloured raffia for you to choose from to achieve your own unique basket..

Kelly has been weaving with natural fibres for 4 years and cautions that once you start, it becomes quite addictive. She is passionate about natural fibres, connecting with nature and sustainability. Kelly enjoys coming together with other women and sharing her passion for creating baskets and art forms using natural materials.

Geezz Covid give us all a break already!
We know Covid is effecting everyone right now but honestly as a business we’ve been in this storm the whole past two years and we are doing our best to remain sustainable as a Bricks + Mortar business.

We understand things can change so fast! ISO, test, ect.

If you suddenly find yourself in ISO or awaiting a covid test and can’t make your pre booked class we understand that these things are out of everyone’s control and usually with very little notice. Sadly there’s a huge amount of prep time in getting the class ready plus we have usually turned others away. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer transfers or refunds but we can suggest the following.

  • Send a friend to take your spot!
  • Gift the ticket to a stranger or post it on your social media.
  • Collect workshop materials when you are well and do the project at home ( we can not offer this for all classes )
    If the class is sold out please email us as we might have a waiting list.

Of course we wish it wasn’t like this and if we could do business another way by handing out all the credit's or refunds we would!!
After running a biz 2yrs in a Pandemic this is where we have landed, and like so many other businesses - We are all in survival mode!!

GENERAL CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICIES

  • If you can not make a class for whatever reason, unfortunately, we cannot refund, transfer or give credit due to the preparation required for these workshops. All purchases are final. However, we encourage you to send a friend along to take your spot!

These policies are in place as a courtesy to our teachers and staff. We feel this is fair for them as our class sizes are limited, and by purchasing a ticket we:
Hold the spot for you: Pay the teacher for your spot, and time spent preparing materials
Pre -purchase the materials required: Prepare morning/afternoon tea
For this reason if you forget to attend or have a prior commitment we are unfortunately unable to provide a refund, credit or transfer. In some cases we may be able to give you the materials and instructions to complete at home.



+ All bookings need to be made online, just add the workshop of choice to the cart and you will be taken to the payment gateway.



+ Your seat is secured once we receive full payment so lookout for an automated confirmation email and please make sure you type in the correct email.



+ We have class minimums to meet, if we do not make them and need to cancel a class we may do so at any time and offer you a full refund or a credit to attend a class at the same value within a 12 month period.



+ Please set a reminder and double-check workshop dates + times here through our website. Unfortunately, because we have held this spot for you and turned others away we can not issue credits or refund if you don't show.
