5TH JULY - BASKET WEAVING

The art of weaving with natural fibres is an ancient craft practised across many cultures. Raffia has been used to sculpt baskets and mats for storing, carrying and decorating throughout history. Through this session, Kelly from Palm Baskets will be guiding you through each step to make a gorgeous coiled raffia basket.

Throughout this workshop we will use the natural fibre of raffia and the weaving technique of coiling, you will walk away equipped to apply the same technique to create baskets of various textures and materials. There will be a selection of both neutral and coloured raffia for you to choose from to achieve your own unique basket.

Kelly has been weaving with natural fibres for 5 years and cautions that once you start, it becomes quite addictive. She is passionate about natural fibres, connecting with nature and sustainability.

Your seat is secured once we receive full payment so check your email address carefully and look out for an automated confirmation email.

Please set a reminder and double-check workshop dates and times here through our website. We do not send reminder emails. You have purchased a ticket and we have held this spot for you, purchased materials and turned others away, so we can not issue credits or a refund if you do not attend. Credits or Class Transfers - 7 or more days notice

You can transfer your ticket to another workshop, providing you give us 7 or more days notice. You can only transfer a ticket once. If the new workshop is a higher cost, you will need to pay the difference. If the new workshop is a lesser cost, we will provide a gift card for the difference.

If there is no suitable workshop, you can transfer your ticket to a gift card. The gift card will be for your ticket price, excluding the booking fee.

Credits or Class Transfers - less than 7 days notice

If you can no longer make a class and it is less than 7 days away, we have already purchased materials and it is too late for us to resell your ticket. We encourage you to send a friend along to take your spot or gift someone your ticket and make their day!

In some cases we may be able to give you the materials to complete the workshop at home. Please email us at hello@thecraftparlour.com.au to check.

Refunds

We cannot provide a refund due to changes in your circumstances or availability.

We will offer you the choice of a refund or gift card of the ticket price, including booking fee, if we cancel a workshop. The refund or gift card will not exceed the purchase price.

Workshop Cancellations by The Craft Parlour

As you would expect, we have class minimums to meet. If we do not meet them and need to cancel a class, we may do so at any time, usually a day or two before the scheduled workshop.

If we cancel or reschedule your workshop for any reason, you will be offered the choice of a refund or a gift card to the value of your ticket price, including booking fee.

Photography and Filming

We may wish to photograph or film the workshop and reserve the right to do so for the purposes of promoting future workshops or otherwise. You consent to us (or any other person attending the workshop) photographing or filming you and any persons attending the workshop with you.

Please speak to our artist or host in the studio if you do not wish to be photographed.
