BLOCK PRINTING with THREADS OF INDIA
Best For: Adults and ages 12+
We are excited to introduce you to a new collaboration with Sonu Dua, Founder of Threads of India who will guide us into the vibrant world of traditional Jaipur block printing where we can experience one of India's most beautiful art forms.
Threads of India have carefully curated a unique collection of hand-carved wooden blocks inspired by the rich artistic heritage of Jairpur, Rajasthan. This is your opportunity to explore the craft, experiment with patterns and and create your own one of a kind pieces.
During the workshop you will choose from the blocks and fabric safe colours and learn how to use these to create a unique design on a tote bag. You can also bring your own piece to print on, for example a plain cotton tee, a plain linen garment or any piece made from natural fibres that you want to personalise. Not sure what will work? Bring a couple of pieces and Sonu can help you decide which one will work best.
In the studio we will also have the Threads of India pop up store and you can explore their collection of modern clothing inspired by traditional Indian textile techniques.
Threads of India was born from a love of India's rich textile heritage and storytelling through craft. Growing up surrounded by traditional Indian fabrics and handcrafted prints, Sonu developed a deep appreciation for the artistry behind every thread. After moving to Australia she founded Threads of India to bring these timeless techniques into a modern wearable form while celebrating and preserving traditional craftsmanship.
Come along and create some vibrant memories, learn a centuries old craft and discover the stories behind the art of block printing. You will also go home with 2 hand printed pieces - a tote (provided) and your own piece

Your seat is secured once we receive full payment so check your email address carefully and look out for an automated confirmation email. If you didn't receive a confirmation email after your payment, check your junk mail. Otherwise, contact us at hello@thecraftparlour.com.au.
Please set a reminder and double-check workshop dates and times here through our website. We do not send reminder emails. Feel free to contact us anytime to clarify session times - hello@thecraftparlour.com.au
If you would like to check out the full terms and conditions, you can find them here.
Credits or Transfers
You can transfer your ticket to another workshop, providing you give us 7 or more days notice. You can only transfer a ticket once. If the new workshop is a higher cost, you will need to pay the difference. If the new workshop is a lesser cost, we will provide a gift card for the difference.
If there is no suitable workshop, you can transfer your ticket to a gift card. The gift card will be for your ticket price, excluding the booking fee and is valid for 12 months.
If you can no longer make a class and it is less than 7 days away, we have already purchased materials and it is too late for us to resell your ticket. We encourage you to send a friend along to take your spot or gift someone your ticket and make their day!
In some cases we may be able to give you the materials to complete the workshop at home. Please email us at hello@thecraftparlour.com.au to check.

We cannot provide a refund due to changes in your circumstances or availability.
We will offer you the choice of a refund or gift card of the ticket price, including booking fee, if we cancel a workshop. The refund or gift card will not exceed the purchase price.
