CLAY PLAY
Have you had a taste of playing with clay and want to do more pieces with a bit more freedom? Our workshops generally allow creative freedom but this hand building ceramics session is for anyone who wants to jump in and do their own pottery piece, at their own pace, without having to source all the gear! It's also great for groups where one wants to make a serving plate, another wants to make a couple of mugs and another wants to do a salad bowl - every one is happy!
This is not a structured class with a demonstration but one of our team will be here to help you with tips and suggestions to make sure your pieces look great AND survive the kiln. We're keeping the numbers small so that everyone will get the attention and support that they need.
Make a mug, a dish, a bowl, some decorative pieces, whatever takes your fancy. We have plenty of samples for inspo and it's great if you come with a piece in mind and some images to help you get started.
We will give you up to a kilo of clay to play with and you can choose from a gritty clay which is more forgiving and looks amazing glazed white, or a smoother style which is better if you want to paint your piece and have clear glaze. Our team can help you choose the best one for what you want to make.
Bring along your BFF, family or partner for a lovely session of clay-making with soothing tunes and good vibes! Loose yourself in the hand building process.
Following the workshop, your pieces will be bisque-fired, glazed and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 4-5 weeks.
Suitable for those who have had a play with clay before and ages 14+

The fine print - Clay has a memory and it's own mind :) We do our best to make sure your pieces come back from the kiln looking awesome - and they usually do - but sometimes there are cracks, also known as unintended design features. They are part of what makes your piece unique!

Workshop Terms and Conditions
General
We understand that life moves fast and things can change, so we want to be clear about our terms and conditions up front.
Your seat is secured once we receive full payment so check your email address carefully and look out for an automated confirmation email. If you didn't receive a confirmation email after your payment, check your junk mail. Otherwise, contact us at hello@thecraftparlour.com.au.
Please set a reminder and double-check workshop dates and times here through our website. We do not send reminder emails. You have purchased a ticket and we have held this spot for you, purchased materials and turned others away, so we can not issue credits or a refund if you do not attend. Credits or Transfers
You can transfer your ticket to another workshop, providing you give us 7 or more days notice. You can only transfer a ticket once. If the new workshop is a higher cost, you will need to pay the difference. If the new workshop is a lesser cost, we will provide a gift card for the difference.
If there is no suitable workshop, you can transfer your ticket to a gift card. The gift card will be for your ticket price, and is valid for 12 months.
If you can no longer make a class and it is less than 7 days away, we have already purchased materials and it is too late for us to resell your ticket. We encourage you to send a friend along to take your spot or gift someone your ticket and make their day!
In some cases we may be able to give you the materials to complete the workshop at home. Please email us at hello@thecraftparlour.com.au to check.
Refunds
We cannot provide a refund due to changes in your circumstances or availability.
We will offer you the choice of a refund or gift card of the ticket price if we cancel a workshop. The refund or gift card will not exceed the purchase price.
Workshop Cancellations
As you would expect, we have class minimums to meet. If we do not meet them and need to cancel a class, we may do so at any time, usually a day or two before the scheduled workshop.
If we cancel or reschedule your workshop for any reason, you will be offered the choice of another workshop, a refund or a gift card to the value of your ticket price.
Photography and Filming
We may wish to photograph or film the workshop and reserve the right to do so for the purposes of promoting future workshops or otherwise. You consent to us (or any other person attending the workshop) photographing or filming you and any persons attending the workshop with you.
Please speak to our artist or host in the studio if you do not wish to be photographed.
